Marco Abbadini
Since September 2023, I am a Marie Skłodowska Curie PostDoctoral Fellow at the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Achim Jung, for the project “DCPOS - Dualities via ComPactness, Openness and their Symmetry”.
Before moving to Birmingham, I was a PostDoc in Mathematics at the University of Salerno, Italy, from December 2020 to August 2023.
I started my PhD studies in October 2017, obtaining my PhD in Mathematics in April 2021 at the University of Milan, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Vincenzo Marra.
Interests:
- mathematical logic,
- universal algebra,
- Stone-type dualities,
- ordered algebras (in particular: MV-algebras, lattice-ordered groups, vector lattices).
I am interested in the connections between logic, algebra, order and topology that emerged starting with M. H. Stone’s celebrated representation theorem for Boolean algebras in 1936. The main topics of my research are Stone-like dualities and their applications, with a particular focus on MV-algebras and lattice-ordered groups.
