Marco Abbadini
I am a Marie Skłodowska Curie PostDoc at the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, UK.
Under the supervision of Prof. Achim Jung, I am working on the project “DCPOS - Dualities via ComPactness, Openness and their Symmetry”.
Brief academic vita:
- Sept 2023 - present: Marie Skłodowska Curie PostDoc, School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, UK.
- Dec 2020 - Aug 2023: PostDoc in Mathematics, University of Salerno, Italy.
- Oct 2017 - Apr 2021: PhD in Mathematics, University of Milan, Italy. Supervisor: Prof. Vincenzo Marra.
Interests:
- mathematical logic,
- universal algebra,
- Stone-type dualities,
- ordered algebras (in particular: MV-algebras, lattice-ordered groups, vector lattices).
I am interested in the connections between logic, algebra, order and topology that emerged starting with M. H. Stone’s celebrated representation theorem for Boolean algebras in 1936. The main topics of my research are Stone-like dualities and their applications, with a particular focus on MV-algebras and lattice-ordered groups.
